We need donations!

FNFF is on the move to create a big LAN here in the Denver Metro area. Right now we can support LANs up to 256 network connections. We need donations to get a new core switch so we can expand this up to a blistering 1536 network connections.

HP Procurve 2848

We need to raise $800 to be able to purchase this bad boy.

Please use the donation link to the lower right and help us bring you one awesome LAN!

Also, All donations can be written off on your taxes! Once you donate, I will get a confirmation that has your email address. I will send an email with the 501c3 ID so you can write it off! The more you donate, the more you can write off and get back from the government!

New Sponsor!

Thanks go out to http://www.computerpoweruser.com/ for sponsoring us with lots of free copies of their May issue. Everyone will get a copy! Up for grabs is 2 complimentary subscriptions to this magazine. I will get more info about them soon.

2 more days!

I have 2 more days till I am officially resigned from my current company. Here is a video of some of the data I have been moving over the past 2 weeks. Moving all the source code, programming software like installshield 11 and 12, Visual Studio 6-2005 etc..

(Sorry about the noise in the back. I was in the server room obviously)

April 1st I move onto a much better company. One that has staying power. One that, as I have seen so far, a very friendly work environment.

News from Steel Series

A couple of hours ago Steel Series released a press release regarding the results and feedback of the SteelSeries Iron.Lady tournament held in Shanghai this weekend, where the response and interest turned out to be way more than we expected.

The recent published press release is located here

FNFF Updates

Welcome all to 2008! If you have not heard, our next LAN will be January 11th-12th at the air force academy.

Updates:

1) Tx4 has about 700 gigs left of free space! That means we are using 3.3 Terabytes!

2) I upgraded the network on Tx4 to 3 gigabits.

3) One hard drive has failed in Tx4 and the replacement is on its way. Hooray for Raid 5!!

4) Bought a managed gigabit switch so that we can trunk multiple connections to increase throughput.

New Year on the way!

Merry Christmas everyone! A new year is coming and we have some very awesome stuff planned. Once I am done celebrating, there will be more updates here soon.

One hell of a LAN

I think this will be one hell of a LAN. Creative has really stepped up and gave us a bunch of awesome prizes. Steel Series has offered up some prizes as well but not like they have in the past. Creative really helped us out this time. We are still pushing to break the 100 attendees barrier. We have some major plans coming up that should increase our attendee average. Thanks again to Creative and Steel Series and the rest of our sponsors Bawls, Pepsi, EQ, Nvidia and GearHost.

The additional stuff we got from Creative were 4 Fatality Headsets and 4 X-fi Xtreme Gamer sound cards.

Creative gives the goods!

Creative has stepped up in a big way and gave us enough prizes for our 5v5 and enough to give away as door prizes! I will be posting the tourney list soon and sending it to Steel Series and I hope they step up just as much.

"What's in the bags?" you may be asking yourself... its a secret ;)

Next LAN!

Coming up October 26th - 27th we will be hosting another awesome LAN! We are teaming up again with Academy Gamers for a 2 night extravaganza! FNFF will be running Friday Night and AG will be running Saturday. We will have many tournaments, Wii, DDR and probably guitar hero 2 again. I will post more info on Tournaments soon. I would also like to mention that Creative is our newest sponsor! Look forward to great prizes from them.
